Farewell 2019

2019 has meant some big changes and showed that I’m capable of many things. Now that I think about it, maybe 2018’s post was right: Anything is possible if you have enough nerve.

Anyway, 3 planners later and a lot of memories, changes and fun things, here we are, a new year and a new decade too! {Can you believe it? I feel quite old right now…}

For 2019 I changed a bit my planner style… I tried the Bullet Journal method but transformed it a bit to suit my preferences. It’s been really interesting to try it but I’m not sure if it fits me well enough.

I used one at a time: a copper Leuchtturm from January to May, a Midori A5 from June to August, and a notebook from Little Hannah Shop from September until … well, yesterday (right at the very end, I might add!)

For 2020 I’m going to change my system again. It is actually a work in progress of self-discovery.

This new year I’m trying a Traveler’s Notebook system, which is basically a collection of small notebooks (inserts) that I can move whenever I want / need. The cover is handmade by Antigua’s and inside there’s the original TN inserts for the year and some handmade by me. The notebook beneath it I’ll use as a tracker for the year.

Even though they are not in the photo, I have a few more notebooks: for book notes, for drawing, for writing…

Anyways, Happy New Year ! Happy New Decade too! and Hello 2020!!!

Farewell 2018

Well, well, well… a new year, uh?

2018 has been a pretty good year… I’ve travelled to new places (some because of work, but still), had a great time with my family and friends, moved out and finally got to live in Madrid.

Each 1st January I think I haven’t done much … but I just have to look at my Paperblanks’ planner to see that maybe that’s not entirely true. Sure, it can be improved, let’s see what 2019 is going to reveal.

I hope 2019 will bring good stuff and great memories (against my feeling right now that this new year is going to be a shit year… maybe is it because I haven’t recover from my endless cold?)

Anyway, as one of my favourite Harry Potter characters said: “Anything is possible if you have enough nerve”.

And of course, I’ll continue to be as messy as always!! (and unable to focus the camera with my left hand…)

Farewell 2017

Well… 2018 is finally here. 2017 has been a really strange year… the end of some projects, the beginning of some others, bad things to beloved beloved friends but another good stuff for some other friends. Whatever. Strange year.

Flicking through the pages of my planners (yep, 3 this year, as I used a notebook after a notebook to fill my year) a lot of stuff has happened. I haven’t travelled as much as 2016, just a little. I finished my course, done my internship and finally managed to stay in the company doing something not even remotely related to my studies but strangely something that I love and in the company of good fellas. Still learning and I love it.

Somehow it seems as if I haven’t done many things (not true, actually), am I growing old maybe?? Hope not!!!

Anyway, I want to make a lot of new stuff for 2018, new projects and adventures lie ahead, I’m sure of it. Now 2018 is promising to be a year of changes, to make some decisions (ugh). No room for apathy in 2018!!!

** Side note: and of course, bringing all my nerdiness and freakness along. Hell yeah, this is me!

Farewell 2016

Another year has come to an end. An outstanding year if I might add. In 2016 I’ve (re)discovered, with full strength, my passion in a job that’s been incredible in all possible ways. Sadly it ended, however I can’t but treasure all the moments and the things I’ve learnt, as I have now a goal to pursue.

2016 has been also a year of travelling, I’ve been to Japan, to Stockholm, to Liverpool and once again to London. I had a great time on those trips and met wonderful people along the way, and discovered, to my astonishment, that travelling alone to a different country and culture is not only an amazing adventure but a great feeling to better myself.

In this year that ends I’ve also fulfilled two of my dreams: visiting Japan, my life-long wish I’ve been craving for since I was about 15 years old. My love for this country has increased even more and I’ll sure be going there in the future, but surely I won’t wait 17 years to do so. The other one was to visit the Harry Potter studios in London, a trip I took with my sister and a magic experience.

For 2017 I only wish it to be at least as good as 2016, but sure enough with more adventures, more love, more trips, more incredible experiences. I’ll try not to worry as much as I usually do, I’ll try to endure myself and be more adventurous, I’ll try to do all the things I’m always postponing due to my fears and the unknown, I’ll try to live as much as I can, with the people that I love the most in the world.

Or Happy New Year! in Chinese. Today is the celebration of the Chinese New Year, which for 2013 is the Snake.

O ¡Feliz Año Nuevo! en chino. Hoy se celebra el Año Nuevo Chino, que para 2013 es la Serpiente.

Red lanterns

This year, due to different reasons, the Chinese community of Madrid decided not to celebrate the Parade… So the photographs here are the Parade celebrated in February 2010.

Este año, debido a varias razones, la comunidad china de Madrid decidió no celebrar el desfile… Así que las fotografías que veis aquí son del desfile celebrado en febrero de 2010.

Dragons Lantern

During the Parade of 2010, the streets of Madrid were full of dragons, lanterns and colour. It took place in front of the Royal Palace and then it continued in Plaza de España {the last photograph shows a part of the monument of this spot} where there were also different stands to buy chinese food and other things.

New Year’s Resolutions

1st of January is, maybe, the day when everybody is doing the same thing: lists about resolutions for the New Year that comes…

In the last days of December and the first of January I like to do a compendium, to summarize the year, trying to reflect on the good things, the bad stuff and of course, see if the last year’s resolutions have been achieved. 2011 has been, in general, a tough and depressing year, horrible year, thank goodness with a few moments of happiness.

My wish for 2012 is more happiness, a job (oh I really really need it!!!) and the hope of finding the light in the darkness. Ok, and a few more resolutions… here they are:

PS: more a wish than a resolution is my desire to go to Japan 😉  … but I feel I can’t make it this year… 😦
