Why do I take photographs?

I really don’t know. Some of them I took to remember, some to show my world and my memories to other people. But some of them… I really don’t know. Susan Sontag wrote that “to collect photographs is to collect the world”. It is the capture of a moment, the moment of a person in particular. She also wrote that “to photograph is to appropriate the thing photographed”. Even though that thing (or person) doesn’t exist anymore.

Photography is immortal. That make us and our time, immortal too. Photography is like breathing to me. I can’t stop doing it.

Why do I take photographs? I take photographs because it makes me happy.

  1. Hi, can you find coordinates for Campiello del Cristo picture? Google maps doesn’t return anything really, and it’s important for me to find exact place as I have a photo of my dad there in the 70’s, much obliged if you could help me out 🙂
