Liebster Award

I’m over the moon!! Izzi from izzi365 has tagged me for the Liebster Award!! It’s designed to celebrate and help discover new blogs. Go check hers, where she shows her life in Madrid.

Thanks a lot Izzi!!! And thank you all for reading me!! 🙂

Liebster award

The rules of the Liebster Award are:

  • When you receive the award, you post 11 random facts about yourself and answer 11 questions from the person who nominated you.
  • Pass the award onto 11 other blogs (make sure you tell them you nominated them!) and ask them 11 questions.
  • You are not allowed to nominate the blog who nominated you!

My 11 random facts!!

  1. It doesn’t matter how many times I tidy up my desk, it’s always messy…
  2. My favourite food is chips, and yes, it IS food {despite what my friends say}
  3. I love languages! I’m studying Frech and Japanese, always improving my English and know a little of Italian {and Spanish of course, it’s my mother tongue}
  4. Someday I will live abroad.
  5. I have two tattoos: one of a butterfly and the other is the kanji yume, ‘dream’ in Japanese. I want another one {or three…}
  6. My nickname has been Yume for many many years, that’s because I’m always daydreaming.
  7. I can’t stand the touch of velvet nor polystyrene {that white horrible thing that protects stuff inside boxes} They give me goosebumps just to think about them.
  8. If I’m obsessed with something {a song, a group, a tv series, a book…} I’ll repeat it over and over and over {I end up even knowing the dialogues by heart}, until I find another obsession.
  9. I love stationery stuff!!
  10. I can’t live without music. I need it. Really, like breathing.
  11. I don’t have a lot of patience, except for photography.

The 11 blogs I extend the award to have been so difficult to choose, all the blogs I’m following are amazing!

Now it’s time for Izzi’s questions!

  1. What is the best thing to do in your home town? -> Have a coffee with my friends in a nice place and talk for hours.
  2. Do you prefer to travel alone or in a group? -> I prefer to travel in a group, I always have a lot of fun!
  3. Tell me some words of wisdom that mean something to you. -> “If you cry for the loss of the sun, the tears won’t let you see the stars” (Rabindranath Tagore); and “Everything happens for a reason”.
  4. What are your favourite and least favourite Spanish dishes? -> My favourite Spanish dish is my mum’s roast chicken. My least favourite is gazpacho because I don’t like tomatoes {some of my friends can’t believe it}
  5. What are your 3 most treasured possessions? -> I’m going to cheat a little and say my cameras {that are more than 3}, an old photograph of my parents and a little cow made of china my granma gave me when I was a child and didn’t want to eat.
  6. What do you normally eat for breakfast? -> I usually have a cup of Twinings English Breakfast tea and a toast with butter and blueberry or strawberry jam.
  7. What is the funniest language barrier problem you have encountered? -> When I was doing an English course in London 2 years ago, we were talking in class about mice. I asked the teacher what was the plural of ‘mice’, she looked amazed at me {I was in a high level in that school} and told me that ‘mice’ was the actual plural of ‘mouse’. It was a very stupid situation.
  8. Which do you prefer – travelling in the winter or the summer? -> I prefer the summer but to cool places.
  9. What stereotypes do people have about your country? Are they true? -> I think a lot of people believe Spaniards are lazy, not true! Most of us are very hard-working.
  10. If you had the opportunity to travel around the world, which countries would you visit? -> Uff… I’d love to go to Japan, US, Europe in general, Argentina, Canada, Australia… I’d visit mostly every country.
  11. For the Spanish bloggers – what are Spain’s best kept secret locations? -> Jajaja, I recommend you to explore every place you go {not only in Spain} I usually combine my favourite spots with coffee shops, restaurants, nice and little shops… I don’t know if they’re secret but my favourite ones are: the villages of Salamanca (specially La Alberca and Candelario); Otto restaurant in Conde Duque, Madrid; a tour on the covers of the Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela; Monastery of San Juan de la Peña, in Huesca; Bar Mercante in Gijón  (best pastel de cabracho and cachopo I’ve ever tried… the arroz con leche is amazing too); the port of Corcubión (La Coruña) at night; in fact, all the beaches of Galicia; Café del Jardín in the Museo del Romanticismo, Madrid; the medieval village of Ainsa (Huesca) …………… I’m starting to think I should open another blog just for my trips.
